I'm Bat (AKA Batman AKA The Rap Dwayne Wade), CEO of Gully Fam Records, a Hip-Hop record label, started in January 2001 (Then known as Venomous Injection Records or V.I.R until 2003) from Louisville,KY. I applied the skills I taught myself at the age of sixteen, web & graphic design with various programs such as Fireworks and Photoshop, to develop a company website for the label with individual artist pages. I used these sites to promote and talk to the people, in a "blog" fashion way before bloggin or even myspace had ever been invented. I also used tatics such as signing artists to internet deals to release music online before major labels and popular services like I Tunes existed.
After playing an intrict role behind the scenes, I decided to write, record, and release my own material. Sticking to the motto of "Why pay someone to do something you could do for yourself?", I began booking shows for the label. I had scored gigs at various venues around Louisville, KY, even a spot opening up for the Ying Yang Twins. Eventually I decided to create a show series dedicated to showcasing local Hip-Hop in Louisville. The series was called "Who Got Next!?" The series was a major success.
I went on to release his first "official" mixtape U Gon Respect Me! in 2008. As Well as "People Love Batman" a cult favorite sampling dialouge from the blockbuster movie "The Dark Knight". At the top of 09 I released "Outside The Outside Of The Box", an artistic adventure into a piece of mind, which suffered from never getting the proper mixing and mastering treatment. Still it presented a few fan favorites in "Do It", "The Industry Feat. Redik", "The Nerdy Cool Kid" and "It's A Beautiful Day".
Now I'm preparing the release of "My Pants Still Sag (The Free EP)", a 10 track free prelude to my album, Music You Can Eat Cereal To, dropping August 12th 2009. (The EP that is, not the album lol, but it's on the way!) Be sure to keep it locked to BatmanOnline.net and TheRapDwayneWade.com for everything I got going on!
